Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, WS-4749-10 (Temporary Promotion NTE 1 Year)

This position serves as the supervisor of industrial production and operations at a detached duty industrial facility. The position will also provide administrative and technical supervision to the assigned workforce for the maintenance and repair of Coast Guard assets in the assigned area of responsibility.Being a Coast Guard employee makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignment include:
Managing all aspects of work assignments, develops methods for project execution, establishes standards, and reviews work for quality and timeliness in meeting scheduled completion dates. Estimating labor hours required by various trades, material costs, and equipment requirements for projects. Establishing deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and coordinating projects with other supervisors. Supervising, coordinating and inspecting work of subordinates. Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired. Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements:
Ability to Lead or Supervise (Screen-out Element). Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Technical Practices:
theoretical precise, artistic. Use of Measuring Instruments. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification:
(includes blueprinting reading). Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment. Knowledge of Materials. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
