Summary:
Production designer producing systems sketches, 3D modeling and 2D CAD drawings, documenting specifications. Estimating staffing requirements and work-hours estimates. Designer to support civil, environmental and transportation related projects.
Creating sketches, drawings and documents that meet appropriate specifications and in compliance with company policy and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Prepares systems sketches and drawings.
Collects document specifications based on appropriate engineering criteria and technical manuals. Execution of project work.
Work conforms to applicable codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.
Provides technical oversight to more junior designers to develop staffing requirements, produce work-hours estimates and produce 2D or 3D methods depending upon level of experience.
Prepares drawings utilizing CAD tools based on appropriate engineering specs, design criteria and technical manuals.
Works closely with designers and engineers to coordinate the designs.
Qualifications/Competencies/
Experience:
Must have 8-15 years of experience in Civil/Structural design and detail.
Must have strong working knowledge of AutoCAD drafting programs.
Proficient in general drafting principles and design processes.
Ability to work in many different environments and conditions in the field or in the office.
College or technical school degree in design /drafting preferred.
Experience with design of Port Facilities: Buildings, steel structures, docks, conveyors and cranes.
Experience in AutoCAD 2014 and AutoCAD Civil 2014 2D/3D.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite 2010 or higher.
Familiarity with AISC and ACI codes.
Basic MicroStation knowledge is a plus.
Knowledge of ArcGIS software platforms a plus.
