Responsibilities:
The Cabinetmaker is responsible for performing a variety of skilled woodworking and construction projects; studies plans and drawings to determine cutting and sequence, eliminating material waste; sets up and operates various woodworking equipment following safety guidelines; fabricates millwork projects (cabinets, counters, furniture, casework, etc.
); informs supervisor of materials and equipment needed to perform projects in a timely manner; coordinates project schedule with department heat to cause the least possible disruption; installs hardware such as hinges, locks, pulls etc.
, to required specifications; files and fits plastic laminate joints and seams to achieve the highest quality of workmanship; performs demolition of existing facilities when required in order to install new millwork items; maintains project flow and organization so other craftsmen can perform their work at the proper time; maintains a clean and safe work area; aids other craftsmen in various construction related projects; utilizes proper body mechanics when:
moving equipment/supplies that are necessary to perform essential functions, moving heavy equipment such as pumps, compressors, and motors weighing up to 50 lbs.
, utilizes assistive devices or seeks assistance to move equipment weighing greater than 50 lbs.
; operates motor vehicle as necessary to complete assignments; performs preventative maintenance checks on exhaust fans; completes requisitions for purchase of materials with proper pricing; documents and reports all data on preventative maintenance; logging proper readings on all equipment; documents unfinished items, parts ordered, and estimated date of completion; adheres to current infection control and safety standards; accepts and completes all duties positively and without conflict; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.
Qualifications:
high school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of a one year program of study in carpentry, woodworking, or cabinet work from an accredited vocational/technical school as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and three years of cabinet work experience.
Driver's License may be required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
