Production Planner - Mobile, AL - Responsible for workflow of the Melt Shop. Planner must create melt plans,
communicate production needs with all departments, review produced material and compile production reports.
This position has no people-management responsibilities but has a significant impact on Production performance through its influence on budgets, inventory and cost of production. Degreed candidates with related experience will receive top pay.
Responsibilities for the Planner
Conduct capacity planning analyses to optimize the effective and efficient utilization of installed equipment
Scheduling of melts and special grades in consultation with the Melt Shop, Quality Control and Supply Chain Management
Evaluate variances in quality standards and consult with Quality department for suitable applications
Must make timely adjustments to production schedule due to equipment faults or production errors
Requirements for the Planner
Bachelor's degree preferred but open to no degree if experience is related
Industry experience with multi discipline knowledge of stainless steel grades,processing, utilization, and defect recognition
3-5 years previous Planning experience in a Melt Shop or Cold Rolling operation
Working knowledge of software tools, including Microsoft Office applications,
Scheduling and Inventory software and Shop Floor production systems
Excellent communication skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Capable to investigate follow up and find solutions for customers
Experience with Microsoft and SAP
English Language is required and Spanish is also preferred
